Safiya Cummings

Safiya Cummings holds an MBBS from the University of the West Indies and is currently pursuing her online MPH, having already completed an MSc in Internal Medicine from the University of Edinburgh. Her diverse background encompasses frontline medical experience during the COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with a fervent interest in research, health policy, and sustainable building design. She envisions establishing a company that bridges medicine, research, and sustainable design, recognising the critical role of the built environment in public health. Safiya is dedicated to generating innovative solutions in optimising the built environment to enhance both physical and mental well-being. Acknowledging air quality as a fundamental determinant of human health, she embraces the OpenAQ Ambassador Program as a platform to advocate proactively for sustainable solutions aimed at ensuring optimal air quality for human health.
